Since 2016, the Export Initiative Environmental Protection (EXI) has worked on behalf of the German Federal Environment Ministry to promote ‘green’ innovations, products and services at an international level. Funding is provided to projects from German green tech companies in seven action areas.

EXI diversity: German green tech know-how for more environmental protection worldwide

With a total volume of EUR 5.3 million, 13 new projects started this year in the EXI priority areas of water and waste water management, circular economy and cross-sectional technologies, as well as green hydrogen and fuel cell technology.

The German Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation, Nuclear Safety and Consumer Protection (BMUV) hosted the annual online event for its ‘Export Initiative Environmental Protection’ (EXI) funding programme in September 2023.

Export Initiative Environmental Protection now also funding capital components

The new 2022/2023 funding call enables the receipt of pro rata funding for hardware procurement, setup and commissioning in relation to the Export Initiative Environmental Protection (EXI). Eight projects have already received this kind of support.
