DIHK Service GmbH
DIHK Service GmbH acts as a project company for the German Chambers of Industry and Commerce (IHKs), and Chambers of Commerce Abroad (AHKs). In this role, DIHK Service GmbH develops and implements projects for and with the IHKs and AHKs.
Who we are
Deutsche Industrie- und Handelskammer (DIHK) is the umbrella organisation for the 79 Chambers of Industry and Commerce in Germany. DIHK also coordinates the work of the network of 140 German Chambers of Commerce Abroad (AHKs) in 92 countries. DIHK Service GmbH acts as a project company for the IHKs and AHKs, developing and implementing projects in this role for and with the IHKs and AHKs.
For more than 120 years, the Chambers of Commerce Abroad have, as German overseas economic development institutions, advised, supported and represented German companies worldwide looking to establish or expand their foreign trade. Thanks to their networks, experience and local expertise, they are the first point of contact for market development and potential.
Our engagement
The Chambers of Commerce Abroad identify country- and topic-specific challenges and needs in the fields of water and waste water management, circular economy and sustainable transport. The AHKs link networks with key stakeholders from politics, administration and the economy, bringing these together in workshops with compatible German experts. The aim here is create specific project proposals and cooperation that is as cost-effective as possible. The AHKs engage in capacity building and are highly effective intermediaries between potential partners in both countries.
DIHK Service GmbH assists and coordinates AHK projects on behalf of the BMUV in terms of concept and content, and ensures a stronger transfer of project results into the German environment industry.
Results and opportunities are fed back into the German IHKs and entrepreneur community, and made usable for the German green tech sector. The project team at DIHK Service GmbH assists and manages AHK projects on behalf of the BMUV.
Since 2016, the AHKs, assisted by the Chambers for GreenTech project team, has implemented over 60 projects in 38 countries, and so contributed to knowledge and technology transfer in an environmental context while boosting export opportunities for ‘Made in Germany’ green tech.
