In March 2023, GIZ organised a study trip on behalf of the BMUV and together with specialist waste consultants cyclos GmbH for twelve senior representatives from Jordan’s Ministry of Environment, the Jordanian Ministry of Local Administration and the Municipality of Greater Amman, which are all involved in the implementation of the EPR system in Jordan.

The aim here was for the delegates to learn and talk about waste management systems, and the dual system used for extended producer responsibility (EPR) in Germany. Accordingly, the delegation visited German waste treatment and recycling facilities, the Central Packaging Registry as well as dual system operators in Bonn, Cologne, Lünen, Osnabrück and other cities.
