As a lesson learned from previous BPBs, there is a particular need for a stronger exchange between science and business, between applied research and practice. Future BPBs should continue to focus on this. Neither individual scientific institutions nor companies can tackle the increasingly complex global challenges in areas such as climate protection, resilience and digital technologies on their own.

The BPB's goal is therefore to draw attention from innovative products developed in research projects to Potential applications and thus contribute to enabling their further development to market maturity by initiating cooperations. In View of the still tense Corona Situation and the good experience of BPB as an online event in the previous funding period, which was able to increase the international reach enormously, the following events will continue to be held in online format.
